From Idea to Market: How We Helped CarBee Launch Australia’s First Video-Led Auto Marketplace

The Brief

CarBee came to us as a startup with an ambitious vision: to reinvent the car marketplace experience through a video-led, app-based platform. Like any new entrant, the first hurdle wasn’t sales, it was awareness. Our job was to build the brand from the ground up, making sure the right audiences knew CarBee existed and why it was different.

 

Once awareness was established, the challenge shifted to performance: driving app downloads at scale, ensuring the app gained traction with both buyers and sellers. The task was twofold: launch a brand that people trust, and then convert that trust into measurable growth through installs and engagement.

The Approach

Our approach began with deep audience alignment — positioning CarBee as the go-to automotive marketplace for a new generation. With Gen Z and younger Millennials as the core target, we focused on attention-first creative that felt native to short-form, vertical video platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Meta.

 

From there, we built a full-funnel media mix designed to drive both discovery and conversion. Paid social and influencer partnerships delivered early-stage awareness, while Google App Campaigns, Apple Search Ads, and retargeting strategies captured high-intent audiences. Each channel was optimised around cost-per-install, cost-per-lead, and engagement depth within the app.

 

Creative testing ran weekly across multiple formats — from thumb-stopping UGC and motion-led stories to polished brand films — giving us constant insight into what resonated and how to scale it.

 

At the same time, UX improvements and conversion-rate optimisation played a major role: refining the app store journey, streamlining the onboarding flow, and optimising landing pages for both desktop and mobile traffic. This ensured that every marketing dollar translated into measurable outcomes: more installs, higher engagement, and ultimately, listings and leads flowing through the platform.
